Users are seeing endless loading times and an Upstream Connect error message because Reddit is down.
Reddit claims to be aware of the problem and to be looking at it right now.
When many users attempt to access Reddit, they encounter a “upstream connect error” warning and endless loading periods, indicating that the site is temporarily unavailable.
Just after 12 p.m. PT, Reddit outage reports on IGN’s sister site Down detector increased significantly and are still having an effect on usage. On X/Twitter, Reddit acknowledged the problem and stated that it is looking into it.
With about 100 million daily users, Reddit is a significant hub for technology, gaming, and entertainment; therefore, its outages seriously harm the Internet. It isn’t the only social networking platform that has been having problems lately. Despite a significant increase in users, Bluesky has also been having trouble with error warnings and poor load times.
Reddit did not provide an estimated time of complete service restoration. More details will be added to this article as they become available.
