Has the election been conceded by Kamala Harris? Things to consider following Trump’s election to the presidency.
Early on Wednesday, after former President Donald Trump was elected to a second term, Vice President Kamala Harris postponed a speech she had planned to give at an election night party, but she had not yet declared defeat.
By obtaining at least 270 of the electoral votes required to win the presidency, Trump defeated Harris. As additional votes are counted, his total can rise.
Harris was scheduled to speak at her election night party at Howard University, a historically Black college where she was an undergraduate, in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night.
“We still need to count the votes. States that haven’t been called yet are still here. On Tuesday night, Cedric Richmond, the co-chair of Harris’ campaign, declared, “We will keep fighting overnight to ensure that every vote is counted and that every voice has been heard.” “So you won’t hear from the vice president tonight, but you will hear from her tomorrow.”
