USFS strives to improve the safety of Snake Rivers.
WYO This past summer, the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) teamed together with the Wyoming Department of Transportation and the Snake River Fund to replace outdated direction signs throughout the Snake River Canyon in an effort to improve safety for river users.
The U.S. Forest Service said that a number of new signs could have been seen by river recreationists pointing to popular river access spots on the Snake River.
BTNF River Program Manager Louie Shahan stated in a press release that “many of the key access points had signs that were in disrepair or in some cases non-existent.” “In the end, the signs make it safer for river users to enjoy the water along this congested and convoluted section of highway.”
