ROCHESTER HILLS, MI Authorities said that on Saturday night, a man opened fire at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, injuring nine people.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, the victims’ conditions and injuries are as follows:

8-year-old boy in critical condition.
4-year-old boy in stable condition.
39-year-old in critical condition.
39-year-old woman in stable condition.
30-year-old woman in stable condition.
30-year-old man in stable condition.
78-year-old man in stable condition.
37-year-old woman in stable condition.
40-year-old man is in stable condition.

The shooting at the splash pad seemed random, according to officials.

It strikes you in the gut. We’ve experienced so many catastrophes,” Sheriff Bouchard remarked.

According to Bouchard, authorities were able to locate the suspect in a Shelby Township home. After SWAT tried to get in touch, authorities discovered that the alleged shooter had passed away.

Authorities claim the gunman may have committed suicide.

The 42-year-old suspect, who was residing with his mother, had no criminal record, according to Bouchard.

On Saturday night, Corewell Health issued the following statement: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those affected by the shooting in Rochester Hills. We are not disclosing any further details, but we can affirm that our crew is tending to some of the patients.”
