Both good and bad news are revealed when Nvidia unveils the RTX 5090.
At the CES exhibition in Las Vegas, Nvidia unveiled four of its RTX 5000-series graphics cards, and there is both good and bad news regarding cost. Pricing and availability for the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 were disclosed; all four cards will be accessible starting this month.
What Was Shown at the Launch of the Nvidia RTX 5000?
What is the price of the RTX 5000 series?
In terms of price, certain cards are significantly more costly than the initial RTX 4000-series products, while others are less expensive. The RTX 5090 retails for $1,999, $400 more than the RTX 4090 did when it was first released. However, the RTX 5080 is $200 less expensive at debut than the RTX 4080, and the RTX 5070 Ti is likewise $50 less expensive at launch than the RTX 4070 Ti. Lastly, the RTX 5070 will be available for $549, a $50 reduction in pricing.
Since AMD and Intel had been concentrating on the low-end and mid-range with an emphasis on value and controlling Nvidia’s enviable market share, this is probably not what they wanted to hear. Over the next few months, the graphics card market will be highly intriguing because price reductions for products like the RTX 5070 compared to the RTX 4070 are likely to be the worst-case scenario.
In summary, the price will be higher if you desire an RTX 5090. You will pay less than you did for the original RTX 4000 series when you take everything else into account. Recent rumors that placed significant markups on the RTX 5090 and 5080, in particular, are very different from this. As of now, no cards below the RTX 5070 have been mentioned.
The RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti: What Are They?
As I left the keynote to go to bed here in the UK at 4 am, no information has been released regarding the RTX 5060 TI and RTX 5060, which are anticipated to make an appearance soon. That’s to be expected, though, since the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti didn’t come out until several months after the RTX 4000-series cards, including the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, were first released.
The RTX 5090’s positive aspects.
However, there is more good news: the card that was shown today is the RTX 5090, which is built on the Blackwell architecture. The most noticeable aspect of the elegant, modern new Founders Edition cooler design is its compact size. The enormous triple-slot graphics card, the RTX 4090 (below), needed a lot of room in PC cases. The RTX 5090, on the other hand, looks to be about two slots thinner throughout.
Since none of the rumors even remotely suggested a two-slot RTX 5090, this indicates that other models may be less in size. It also makes us reevaluate our assumptions regarding other specifications and power consumption. Compared to the massive Inno3D model that was unveiled earlier this week, it is undoubtedly a far cry. Although partner cards are frequently larger, there is a significant difference in this case because there is a full slot of depth. It will be interesting to see whether any other samples from other board partners will also be dual-slot.
