With just her second hit, Adele doubles her career wins on the TikTok-focused list. Only “When We Were Young” has made it onto the list prior to “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” In January of current year, same track spent barely two turns on the tally before rising to No. 8.
Despite being a new addition to the TikTok Billboard Top 50, “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is not a brand-new song. In the spring of 2016, Adele released the song as a single from her album 25. By the time the full-length came out in late 2015, it had taken the world by storm and demonstrated her unparalleled selling power.
It’s interesting to note that Adele only has two tracks from 25 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50. She has put out four albums and composed hits like “Hello,” “Someone Like You,” and “Rolling in the Deep,” which are all far more popular than “When We Were Young” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” Her songs from 2015 and 2016 have managed to get traction on the social networking app, but none of those songs have become hits for some reason.
